Overview #
The Email/SMS module allows merchants to automatically notify customers about key loyalty events such as sign-ups, points earned, referrals, and rewards. This keeps customers informed and engaged at every step of their loyalty journey, driving more interactions and repeat behavior.
Each event trigger can be customized, toggled on or off, and previewed/tested for accuracy and branding alignment.
Steps to Configure Email/SMS Notifications #
- Go to:
Shopify Admin → Apps → Easy Loyalty Rewards → Email/SMS - You’ll see a list of available notification events with the following columns:
- Event – The trigger that initiates the message (e.g., Welcome Email, Points Earned)
- Type – Email or SMS
- Status – Active / Inactive
Examples of Notification Events: #
- Welcome Email
Triggered when a customer joins the loyalty program - Points Earned
Triggered when a customer earns points via purchase, referral, or other action
To Edit or Customize a Notification #
- Click on the specific event (e.g., “Welcome Email”)
- You’ll be redirected to the message editor page:
- Preview the message content
- Use the “Send Test Email” button to test the message
- Customize the HTML/CSS code if advanced branding is needed
- Status Toggle:
- Switch the Status to Active to enable the message
- Set to Inactive if you want to disable the event communication
- Click “Save” to apply changes
Pro Tip:
Keep your tone consistent with your brand. Use personalization tags to dynamically insert the customer’s name, point balance, or tier status.
